Overview of Services:
A.W.A.R.E. believes the ideal situation for providing coordinated mental health servcies for young persons is to treat them in or as close to their home communities as possible.

Because of a variety of factors that may not always be possible; however A.W.A.R.E. offers an alternative campus treatment program that combines education and a therapeutic group home setting.

Living, working and playing in the Galen, Montana area with Galen and AWARE Services.

Situated in the scenic and serene Deer Lodge Valley, the campus-based intensive therapeutic group home program at Galen takes advantage of the rural setting to provide a family-style living experience while allowing residents to receive appropriate treatment and educational services.

In the group homes, clients are provided:
  • individual and group therapies;
  • family therapy;
  • life skills training;
  • teaching recreational skills;

In addition, to make sure the clients maintain their education and receive the individualized instruction so important to the success of the intensive therapeutic treatment program, A.W.A.R.E.’s Galen program includes its own school. The campus-based public school program provides a full range of therapeutic support in alliance with the Deer Lodge elementary and high school districts.

  • individualized education based on the CST/IEP process;
  • educational testing and evaluation;
  • ancilary services such as evaluation and treatment in the areas of occupational therapy, speech and language;
