MCT in Action: Building Stability, Creating Momentum

·

Progress rarely happens all at once. It is built through consistent support, practical steps, and relationships that hold steady over time.

What is MCT
Montana Community Treatment (MCT) is AWARE’s community-based behavioral health program that provides comprehensive services and care coordination for adults 18 and over who are facing mental health challenges with co-occurring substance use. Using a team based, wraparound service model, MCT supports recovery and stability and helps people live more independent lives when traditional outpatient services are not enough.

The two journeys below look different, but they share the same foundation. Support stayed consistent, goals stayed personal, and progress grew one step at a time.

Rose: From Crisis to Confidence
Rose joined MCT during a period of crisis that led to an inpatient hospitalization. In her own words, it became a turning point and a chance to reset, rediscover her worth, and begin building the life she truly wanted.

During one of the most difficult periods of her life, Rose shared that the MCT team walked alongside her with consistent support, encouragement, and compassion. Over time, she began rebuilding confidence and a sense of purpose, finding motivation in the small, steady moments that helped her believe in herself again.

Today, Rose is giving back in ways that once felt impossible. She graduated from MCT Core in 2025 and is now enrolled in the Community Maintenance Program. Rose is currently pursuing a career in addiction counseling and is in her second successful semester, with a goal of helping others find the same hope and direction she found.

Life still brings challenges, but Rose shared that remembering where she started, and recognizing who she has become, keeps her grounded and motivated to keep choosing growth and the future she is building.

Tyesha: Building Stability and Momentum
Tyesha has lived with the challenges of SDMI and its symptoms for much of their life. When they first began services with MCT, then known as PACT, they were navigating instability and significant barriers that made daily life feel overwhelming.

Through consistent support, personal dedication, and a strong desire for change, Tyesha began building the skills and confidence needed to move forward. Over time, they left an unhealthy and unstable living environment and transitioned into independent housing, where they now reside with their son. This milestone reflects tremendous growth, resilience, and determination.

Today, Tyesha has maintained steady part time employment for several years, showing reliability and commitment in the workplace. Academically, they earned a bachelor’s degree in Game Business and E Sports and are currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Music Production. Their story highlights what is possible through support, hard work, and belief in one’s ability to grow.

Why these stories matter
These journeys remind us that progress does not have to look the same to be powerful. Whether someone is rebuilding after crisis or strengthening stability to pursue long term goals, consistent support and coordinated care can make lasting change possible.

Thank you to our teams who show up with compassion and follow through, and to the individuals we serve who keep choosing the next step forward.
