AWARE Resources
Helping people with challenging mental and intellectual issues and providing services for them takes many people working together. That includes AWARE staff and programs and people in other organizations and agencies. Here is a list of public and private partners AWARE works with every day to fulfill its mission. We’ve also included a list of useful links to other groups and sources of information.
H.E.L.P. – AWARE’s trademarked system for relieving stressful situations – has been accredited by the state of Montana. We first began using the crisis prevention and intervention program when we opened several children’s group homes in 1991. Today all AWARE direct care staff and case managers are required to pass the H.E.L.P. course, which includes a 30-page manual complete with photos. Learn more about how H.E.L.P. (Healthy Employees Leading People in need) teaches caregivers a "therapeutic attitude."
We compiled a list of acronyms to help you better understand human services and the terms you may encounter when looking for information about developmental disabilities, emotional disturbances and mental illness.
AWARE plans to publish a set of fact sheets written in plain English that will give users a quick understanding of a range of topics.
