About Lyn


Dr. Lyn Ankelman joined AWARE in 2020, bringing over 30 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, families, and adults. She is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor in Florida, Alabama, and Montana, with expertise in outpatient, residential, and crisis care settings.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling from Saint Louis University, and a Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. Passionate about evidence-based practices, she is a skilled trainer in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Partners for Change Outcome Measures, Elevate Montana’s ACES, and Crisis Prevention Intervention.

At AWARE, Dr. Ankelman leads the Education Services team, supporting teachers and staff at the Center for Excellence. She believes every child can learn and works to create an environment where students feel empowered to achieve their unique educational goals. She also serves as the Project Evaluator for AWARE’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) team as they implement their SAMHSA grant.

Away from work, you can find her tinkering in her garden, exploring the woods, or fishing on the water—always embracing curiosity and adventure.
