What is AWARE's CSCT Program?

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

AWARE offers school-based treatment called Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT), designed to support children with special needs in thriving within classroom or school-based settings. Employing a wrap-around approach, AWARE's specialized staff collaborates directly with identified children, their parents, teachers and school personnel to achieve the objectives outlined in each individualized plan.

Acknowledging the significance of home life for children's academic success, CSCT services can also be integrated into the home as needed.

AWARE's CSCT services are available in many communities statewide. Prospective clients are encouraged to inquire about home support and family support (individual or group therapy) services as well.

CSCT focuses on two essential elements to aid your child:

  1. Normalization: Children learn best in a normalized environment, which emphasizes staying with their own family, school and classroom, fostering natural growth and development.

  2. Empowerment: Children excel in school when they receive essential support and positive feedback regarding their performance and behavior. Empowering parents in the education process and fostering a sense of affiliation with the school further enhances confidence.
