BUTTE, MT – It was recently announced that AWARE’s center in Butte achieved a STAR 4 in Montana’s Best Beginnings STARS to Quality Program – an accomplishment worth celebrating!
The Best Beginnings STARS to Quality Program is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system that aligns quality indicators with support and incentives for early childhood programs and early childhood professionals. Criteria include requirements for staff education, family engagement and scoring on environmental and program administration rating scales.
AWARE’s STAR 4 rating is a testament to the work being done in the community of Butte.
“Parents want their children to have a nurturing, high-quality environment for learning. Our staff are committed to providing a solid foundation critical to children’s early development. Our participation in the STARS program helps our staff better understand the elements needed to build the high-quality early childhood program,” AWARE Director of Early Childhood Services Colleen Bosch said.
In October 2010, Montana began field testing a quality rating and improvement system (QRIS), STARS to Quality, that aligns research-based quality indicators with workforce development, financial incentives and support for early childhood programs and professionals.
The mission of the STARS program is to support high-quality early care and education programs through a quality rating and improvement system. This system strengthens programs and practitioners with continuous improvement strategies and assists families to make informed decisions.
About AWARE Early Head Start
AWARE Early Head Start provides family centered services designed to nurture healthy attachment between the parent(s) and child. Early Head Start staff encourage and promote social, emotional and physical growth through high-quality and developmentally enriching child and family experiences. In collaboration with the parent(s) learning is designed to respond to the individual strengths and needs of each child.
AWARE provides Early Head Start and other early childhood services in Belgrade, Billings, Butte and Helena.
