AWARE team members do some pretty awesome things during their free time. We definitely work with many people who have diverse talents. It’s exciting to follow and then have the opportunity to highlight their amazing feats.
Today, we’re proud to recognize Tyler Noland, ABA coordinator in Bozeman.
Our teammate who’s been with AWARE for a couple years now, ran The Boston Marathon in May.
As you may know, training for a marathon and doing well, takes a lot of time and dedication. Not only did Tyler run his personal best marathon time, but he also finished in the top 8 percent of all competitors of this prestigious race.
This is what he had to say about his race:
“Having the opportunity to run The Boston Marathon was like being on a roller coaster slowly ticking up a steep slope, each mile of training inching me closer to the top. As I crossed the starting line it was as if I finally reached the top and got to experience the ride I had worked so hard for. I couldn’t stop smiling through the whole race! If it weren’t for the medal, I would still think it were all a dream. I’ve been running for 30 years and have never experienced anything like it before. The overwhelming support from my family, friends, AWARE coworkers and the families we support in the Bozeman area helped to make this race possible - they inspired and motivated me every step along the way. Hard work pays off! This was my fourth marathon. I ran a new personal best time of 2:52.30 – a five-minute improvement over my previous time and finished in the top 8 percent of all competitors.”
Tyler, we’re so proud of you. Keep up the great work!
