Goal Achieved

Updated: Dec 28, 2021

Do you remember back in August when we set a goal to raise enough money to purchase duffel bags for the foster children in our care? We are excited to share that we reached our goal!

Recently, the team from the Smelter City Throwdown (SCT) Cornhole Tournament delivered a check for $1,000 to go toward duffle bags for the foster children AWARE serves.

SCT raised the funds during its annual cornhole tournament in August. Proceeds were raised to support the backpack program in Anaconda schools and duffle bags for the foster children in AWARE's care.

On average, AWARE has 70 foster children in our care each year. The heartbreaking reality is that many of these children move in and out of homes with their belongings in plastic bags.

We wanted to change this story, and SCT has graciously helped in this endeavor. The donation from SCT will not only provide enough duffel bags for all of the children currently in our care but also will allow us to have extra on hand for new children as they arrive in our care.

Thank you Smelter City Throwdown Cornhole! Your hearts and donation are fully appreciated. 💛
