In early March Jay, Alex, and Patrick were able to enjoy some beautiful spring skiing up at Discovery Ski Area thanks to help from AWARE’s Best Day Ever Fund.
AWARE staff Britta and Kirsten worked together to make the day fun and memorable for the three clients who thoroughly enjoyed their time up on the mountain.
Jay, a skier, and Alex, a snowboarder, showed off their skills as they repeated laps on some of the freshly groomed runs. Patrick, entirely new to the snow sport, started the day on a snowboard and then transitioned to skis, which he seemed to prefer.
After some time getting comfortable with their gear, the trio gathered for a quick lesson that taught them the basics and then built on their skills.
For Patrick, a trip to Discovery was something he had been dreaming about for a while, and AWARE’s Best Day Ever Fund was the perfect way to help him realize this dream. We owe a special thank you to all of our supporters who help make dreams like this come true by contributing to our Best Day Ever Fund.
All in all, it was a great day on the mountain that Jay, Alex, and Patrick will remember for many years to come!
