Where Healing Meets the Montana Outdoors

·

There’s something about the Montana sky, the way it opens wide over the mountains, the way the wind moves across the prairie, that just makes you breathe a little deeper. For many of us, stepping outside is more than a break from the day; it’s part of how we heal, cope, and reconnect.

At AWARE, we know that mental health doesn’t start or stop at the clinic door. It’s shaped by our communities, our relationships, and yes, even our landscapes. From the Bitterroot to the Hi-Line, we’ve seen firsthand how time outdoors can boost mental well-being. A walk on a quiet trail, a fishing trip with friends, or just time spent in an open space can lower stress, reduce anxiety, and help people feel more grounded.

That’s why we’re committed to building care that reflects Montana’s unique way of life. Our teams work in towns big and small, meeting people where they are. Sometimes, that means bringing services into homes, other times into parks or community gardens. We believe healing can happen anywhere, especially when it’s paired with nature and connection to the land.

As we continue to expand our services across all 56 counties, we remain inspired by the strength of this place and the people who call it home. Your support helps us offer more than just clinical care. It helps us build healthier, more connected communities where people can thrive inside and out.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Warmly,

Matt Bugni, CEO
