Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
About Sherrie
Sherrie Eaves is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing comprehensive psychiatric care to adolescents and adults ages 13 and older. She provides psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment both in person at the Butte office and through telehealth. In addition to her outpatient practice, Sherrie provides psychiatric care to individuals residing in a group home setting and serves as a Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) provider.
Sherrie brings more than 20 years of clinical nursing experience, with a strong background in intensive care and emergency medicine. Her work in these high-acuity settings fostered a growing interest in the complex relationship between physical and mental health and ultimately inspired her transition into psychiatric care.
For eight years, Sherrie worked as a critical care travel nurse throughout the United States. This experience provided her with the opportunity to work alongside diverse communities and healthcare teams while gaining a deeper appreciation for different cultures, traditions, belief systems, and individual perspectives on health and wellness. Her experiences as a travel nurse helped shape her belief that effective mental health care begins with understanding the individual and recognizing that each person’s needs, experiences, values, and goals are unique.
Sherrie believes mental health treatment is most effective when it is collaborative and individualized. She strives to develop a therapeutic partnership with each patient while utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches and incorporating the patient’s preferences, goals, and circumstances into their plan of care. She believes patients benefit from a team-based approach in which the patient, psychiatric provider, therapists, primary care providers, family or support systems, and other members of the healthcare team can work together when appropriate.
In addition to her clinical practice, Sherrie has served as a clinical adjunct instructor for Murray State University, teaching senior nursing students during their critical care clinical rotation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Murray State University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky University.
Outside of her professional life, she is originally from Kentucky and enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her better- half and their dog. Additionally, she enjoys all things Disney, rockhounding, crafting, kayaking, camping, a good book, documentaries, and time with family. She can often be found listening to some banjo picking or cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.
