Initially reliant on buses and walking, Connie had a dream of learning to drive —a goal she successfully achieved in 2002. With the unwavering support of AWARE, Connie transformed her dream into reality, and she now navigates the roads with confidence and freedom. Her new Kia, outfitted with custom modifications like left foot pedals and a steering knob, symbolizes not just transportation freedom but also empowerment and autonomy. 

Beyond her personal milestones, Connie is a beacon of community engagement and service. As a People First advisor and dedicated volunteer at the food bank, she uplifts those around her, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion.
