Meet Our Board Member – Scott McBride

Our organization is led by a diverse and talented group of professionals. They provide our governance, and they graciously volunteer their time, knowledge, skills, and expertise each month. They keep us focused on our mission – helping people live independent lives – and each one of them has excelled in their respective fields. Simply put, they are considered the best of the best in Montana (and beyond).

AWARE Board Member Scott McBride

Basically, our board members inspire us to be better, to achieve greater things, and hopefully they’ll inspire you too. This month’s story is part of a series that features our board members and the reasons they choose to support our cause.

This month, we feature Scott McBride who has served on AWARE’s board since March of 2021.

Scott resides in Bozeman, Montana, and comes to AWARE with many years of experience as owner and therapist of Stillwater Counseling.

Scott has a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Denver Seminary as well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University. He has worked as an intern counselor at Shepard’s Gate Counseling Center and as a therapist at the National Institute for Change. He also served as a group home manager for AWARE prior to moving to Colorado.

Scott is a registered psychotherapist who specializes in conflict resolution, adolescents of divorced families, anxiety, and video game addition, among several other areas of expertise. He’s served as a Young Life Volunteer in Billings, and he has also spent time in Bangkok, Thailand teaching English at the Wattana Wittaya Academy.

It’s safe to say Scott is well-versed in his field, and his dedication to helping others runs deep.

Scott, thank you for reconnecting with our organization and pushing us to continuously strive for excellence. Your desire to help others inspires us to achieve greater things. Thank you for helping us become the organization we are today!
